Scenario:
In computer networking, two versions of IP addresses are used i.e., IPv4 and IPv6. What is your point of view, will IPv6 totally replace IPv4, or IPv4 will co-exist with IPv6? Justify your opinion with two solid reasons.
Solution:
In my opinion, IPv4 will co-exist with IPv6. I have the following reasons.
Dual-Stack
Dual-Stack means IPv4 and IPv6 can be run on the same machine at the same time. It is leading towards a hybrid network in which both types of addresses will work. Windows OS, Mac, iOS, Android, Chrome iOS all are giving Dual-Stack functionality.
Cost-effective
IPv4 and IPv6 co-existence are cost-effective. It will be very costly to change IPv4 addresses to IPv6. Infrastructure and routers will have to be changed in order to do so. The firmware will also need to be updated. IPv4 has a great demand IPv4 and IPv6 have OSI and TCP layers side by side these have the same configuration.
